About me

I began providing childcare in 1974. With 2 young children and one on the way, I wanted to be a 'stay at home' mom, yet provide additional income for my family and additional playmates for my children to play with. I now have 3 grown daughters and 7 grandchildren!

Over the years I have attended numerous development courses, workshops and seminars in child development, including a certificate program provided by the Canadian Mothercraft Society, in Toronto. I was affiliated with Wee Watch for over 10 years in the Scarborough area.!

My love for children and my extensive experience makes me proud to offer quality home 'family' type care for children. Being single enables me to provide around the clock care, therefore securing me a niche in the Newmarket area. My home becomes your child's second home where they are loved and cared for as my own, and they come to feel as though this is an extension of their family and home.  I follow a normal home-type routine, much as you would yourself, providing the flexability children thrive on. I serve healthy, balanced meals and snacks. !

I have a variety of toys, supplies and craft materials with which to provide interesting and nurturing activities whichprovide opportunities to develop various aspects of your child's growth!

This is a pet friendly household & I have 2 pugs, Skooler & Copper They are both under 2 years old and have been neutered and received their appropriate shots. Skooler and Copper are very used to children as I have 6 grandchildren and neighbourhood kids that visit regularly. I keep a kennel for their use on each floor but they are not confined indefinitely throughout the day. The children will enjoy a very large aquarium with koi and goldfish in their play area!

My yard is fenced in completely and in good weather we enjoy many outdoor activities and excursions such as a walk to local public parks or a get together with other home child-cares in the area. !
